Castel del Monte

Overview

A one of a kind adventure that will take you to experience an unforgettable journey. Starting from the foot of the hill dominated by the castle, we will walk along gentle slopes and through areas characterized by the presence of substeppa, oak woods, dry stone rural structures and buildings for the transhumance practice, known as the “jazzi”. A long climb surrounded by coniferous woods will lead us to the top of the hill where to admire the famous work of art ordered by Frederick II in the thirteenth century.

It is a unique tour providing a wide view both of the castle and the area in which it is located. You will cross and discover the core of area in a dynamic way, feeling as a whole with it. You will be accompanied by a passionate and expert guide to find out about ancient landscapes and their important naturalistic and archaeological aspects.
