Overview
A pleasant long walk to discover breathtaking ancient places. We will start from the medieval town of Otranto and reach then the barren landscape surrounding the town. High cliffs overlooking the sea, bays and natural ports, vast pine forests and indelible signs of the human environment exploitation, that transformed the area into important natural reserves. We will recognize spontaneous plants and traces of the wildlife as well as find out about the landscape and the history of local humas, enjoying a full of emotion experience.

It is a comprehensive tour to get to know about Otranto. Protected by a natural bay and mighty medieval buildings, the city boast centuries of history. It played a role of hegemony over the territory during the Middle Ages, was the crossroads of many cultures and is the most eastern city in Italy. The surrounding area is a pearl of biodiversity, characterized by a rocky landscape overlooking the sea as well as by a wild and barren vegetation. You will be accompanied to discover these off the beaten track places by a professional and passionate local guide. Large bays, Mediterranean scrub, garrigue and pine woods surround the landscape. We will cross a mine, unique for its red colored hills, where in past times the bauxite mineral used to be extracted.
